Qld: Opposition and mining company slam state govt tax policies
The Queensland government's tax policies on the mining industry have been condemned
by the opposition and a mining company which has announced its axing 130 jobs today.
Queensland Magnesia has announced major production cuts at its Kunwarara mine and Parkhurst
processing plant in Rockhampton in central Queensland.
The mine will cease contract mining activities from today and the processing plant
will operate at only 30 per cent capacity until at least the middle of the year.
